Follow Jesus’ Command

Christianity is the development and fulfillment of faith in the coming of the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. The Mosaic covenant prepared the way for the perfect covenant in Jesus Christ.  It is not following law that lead to eternal life, but faith in Jesus Christ, manifested in love (Introduction to Paul’s Epistle to the Romans).

Before His ascension, Jesus told His disciples, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16). We are His disciples now, the living Body of Christ and He always prepares us for the task He asks us to do.

Almighty and ever living God, we have been baptized into Christ and ask for the strength, wisdom and understanding to follow His command out of love.  We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord who sits at Your right hand ready to guide our lives.  Amen.
